Vivo may have beaten all another brand to launch a phone that comes with a fingerprint sensor located beneath the screen. This has been a crowning glory moment of sorts for the Chinese smartphone manufacturer who was often ridiculed for focusing too much on selfie centric phone of copying iOS icons to the T. However, with, X20 Plus, Vivo has raised the bar higher for themselves. If the latest leak is to be trusted, Vivo is planning another device which will make the entire screen act as a fingerprint sensor.
The upcoming bezel-less phone from VIVO seems like another powerful device. The leaks show a full-screen bright display with very tiny bezels on either side of the display.
While we did not get much information regarding the hardware configuration of the upcoming phone, what we can notice in that the entire front portion of the phone is covered by the display and can’t find a front camera or speaker grill.
Another highlighting feature that we can notice in the leaked image is an app icon in the app drawer that reads, “Half-Screen” and bears fingerprint image on it. The sources have reported that the phone may come equipped with a fingerprint technology that enables half of the screen to act as an under display fingerprint sensor.
Which means that you do not need to touch a specific location on the display for the fingerprint sensor to work. If this is true at all, it may be yet another path-breaking innovation that would change the way we use our phones.
