Chinese smartphone company OnePlus has launched its latest flagship smartphone OnePlus 5 in India today. The phone was globally launched on 20th June and has been receiving mixed reviews because of its design which is highly inspired by Apple iPhone 7+. The global pricing of the new smartphone starts at $479.
The OnePlus 5 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 processor and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) based Oxygen OS. The Nougat based OS on OnePlus 5 brings in a whole new set of features and offers a better user experience.
The OnePlus 5 comes with dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary camera with wide-angle lens, large f/1.7 aperture along with a 20-megapixel secondary camera to capture the better depth-of-field (bokeh) effect. This bokeh effect blurs out the background in portrait mode and offers 2x zoom. It also has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
One the storage front, OnePlus 5 comes with 64 GB and 128 GB UFS 2.1 storage variant with 6GB and 8GB RAM respectively. It has a ceramic fingerprint sensor that the company boasts can unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds. It has a 3300mAh battery with Dash Charge that promises a day of battery life with half an hour of charge.
The OnePlus 5 comes in Slate Gray and Midnight Black colors. It is now available for pre-order on OnePlus.net in the U.S. and Europe.In India, it is exclusively available on Amazon.in starting 4.30PM on 22nd June and OnePlusStore.in OnePlus 5 is priced as below:
