OnePlus Rolls Out Android 7.0 Nougat Update to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T


OnePlus had announced that it will roll out Android Nougat updates for its flagship devices, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T and now keeping up with the commitment, the company announced the rollout on OnePlus Forums (OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T) around 2 PM IST on 31 December 2016.

The Android Nougat 7.0 based Oxygen OS 4.0 is being pushed through an over-the-air update that will reach it’s users in a phased manner.

Today we’re happy to announce that we’ll be rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to both the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T. As always, this roll out is incremental and we will try to get everyone covered as quickly as possible, announced the company in a statement.


The update will bring:

  • Upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat
    • New Notifications Design
    • New Settings Menu Design
    • Multi-Window View
    • Notification Direct Reply
    • Custom DPI Support
  • Added Status Bar Icon Options
  • Added Quick Launch For 3rd Party Applications
  • Improved Shelf Customization

The company also launched the Open Beta program for OnePlus 3T users while launching the first Beta build for users to test drive.O nePlus 3 users were the first to receive the Nougat beta build on their devices in November.

In an another important update, the company has announced that OnePlus 2 users will also get Android Nougat update and the company is working on it, however, no timeline has been provided.

Users who do not want to wait for the phased rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat update on Oneplus 3 and Oneplus 3T, can manually download the Open Beta 1 update and sideload it to your devices – however, this will put you on the beta release cycle for future OTA updates.
