Yunicorn is Yu’s latest offering in India. The latest flagship by Yu is a midrange device that will compete against the likes of LeEco Le1S or Redmi Note 3.
The phone has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, MediaTek Helio P10 processor with support for carrier aggregation, 4GB RAM, comes with 32GB expandable storage, a 13 mp rear camera with PDAF, 5-mp front camera, fingerprint sensor, and a 4000mAh battery. The company claims that the will give atleast 20 hours of calling and 500 days of standby time.
It comes with a metal unibody design with brushed aluminium finish with aluminium alloy including magnesium and manganese, which company claims with help the device Age better. Along with Yunicorn, Yu has also introduced AOS ( Android On Steroids) custom skin which as per the company gives near stock android feel on top of Android 5.1 Lollypop. Yu has also baked in some useful features within AOS with its upgraded Around Yu 2.0 which lets you order food, shop online, book flights and hotels, and call for cabs without having to install individual apps.
The YU Yunicorn is available in silver, graphite, and gold for INR 12,999,with an additional discount for SBI users, exclusively on Flipkart. Rush Gold will be available in limited quantities for the first few sales. Registrations start today and the phone will go on sale on June 7. After a month, it will be priced at Rs. 14,999. It also comes with 400 in the Yu Wallet, and the first consultation free on Lybrate.
