After numerous leaks and so much wait, Xiaomi officially launched the Redmi Pro in China. Redmi Pro is Xiaomi’s most powerful Redmi device yet and it features a dual camera on the back.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro comes with a 2.5GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X25 chipset, along with a Mali-T880 GPU, on the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the same processor but clocked down at 2.3GHz processor powers the 3GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. There is another variant with a 2.1GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 SoC with 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage.
The smartphones comes with all metal body with CNC diamond cut and brushed metal finish with gloss anodizing process. The design makes the device look premium. The Redmi Pro comes with a USB type C connector but thank god it still has a 3.5 mm audio jack. The fingerprint sensor is located on the front of the device housed under the ceramic home button like the Mi 5.
Dual rear camera setup on Xiaomi Redmi Pro is its highlight. It comes with a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor with a 5-lens module, a f/2.0 aperture and PDAF autofocus, coupled with a 5-megapixel camera secondary depth-sensing camera. The dual-tone flash module is housed right between the two lenses. On the front, it bears a 5-megapixel camera with an 85-degree wide-angle lens and a f/2.0 aperture.
The new smartphone comes in a 5.5-inch full-HD Oled display, another first with Xiaomi, with a pixel density of 342ppi and 2.5D curved glass. The smartphone bears a brushed aluminium body, with CNC-chamfered edges, and a USB 2.0 port.
It is a dual sim device with a hybrid sim slot that supports a micro sd card in place of a sim and supports memory expansion upto 128GB. It comes with a 4050 mAh battery.

The smartphone will be available in three variants
- Helio X20 with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage is priced at CNY 1,499/ Rs 15,000/ USD 225
- Helio X25 3GB with 64GB at CNY 1,699/Rs. 17,000/USD 255
- Helio X25 4GB with 128GB at CNY 1,999/Rs. 20,200/USD299
It will be available in Gold, Silver, and Dark Grey variants. No word about the global availability though.
