If you remember, Sony crowdsourced a smartwatch called FES. It was an e-ink watch and come with an always on display. Seems like Sony is now looking to repeat the same with a better looking and complex FES Watch U wich again comes with an always on e-paper display.

This new smartwatch will be available is Black and White color and is customizable using a custom-made app on your smart phone. Quite like the earlier version, FES, FES Watch U’s watch face, and wristband would be made of Electronic Material.

The FES Watch U will get a premium look with the Sapphire Glass cover and a metal frame. Although unlike other smart watches, this smartwatch will not have any sort of smartphone notification syncing.

This smartwatch will be shipped in 2017 and will be currently limited to Japan. The watch is priced at $438 and is available for pre-order. Although you can get a full-featured smartwatch at a lower price, it would be really interesting to see if this trial from Sony if successful and does it reach other countries apart from Japan.
