No More Nexus Phones, Google to announce Pixel Phones, 4K Chromecast and more on October 4th

If you’d been planning to buy the next Nexus phone. You probably won’t be able to buy one as Google has decided to shift its in-house smartphone brand from Nexus to Pixel. Nexus branded phones are very famous because they are the first in line to get the latest Android updates from Google. Apart from the Pixel Phones Google plans to launch a lot of other devices on 4th October.

The 2 Nexus devices that we heard a few rumours of, Marlin and Sailfish, will be marketed as the Pixel and the Pixel XL. Earlier with the Nexus program Google had partnered with Samsung, LG, HTC and Huawei for both phones and tablets which came with its latest and stock Android. This year’s devices the Pixel and Pixel XL will be built by HTC and these devices will carry Google branding rather than HTC.

We haven’t heard anything about Google-branded Android tablets as yet, although some source state that Google is slated to release two own-branded Android Wear smartwatches later this year.

Apart from the Pixel branded phones, Google is also planning to release a 4K Chromecast may be called as Chromecast Plus or Chromecast Ultra, a smart home hub called Google Home, and will also reveal the company’s in-house design for a Daydream VR viewer device called as Daydream View.

This does sound like an official end of the Nexus series as the good ol’ Nexus player line does not have any replacement planned. The pure android Tablet has been branded as Pixel and other upcoming devices do not seem to carry the Nexus branding hence it may be curtains for the “Nexus” brand.
