Lenovo has launched Lenovo Phab 2 Plus smartphone, the lower variant of the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, the Google Project Tango Phone, in India. It is the successor of the Phab Plus smartphone and is exclusive to Amazon in India and is already available for sale from today.

Phab 2 Plus is not an ideal smartphone for people who are looking for a small form factor. This smartphone comes with a 6.4-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and sports aluminum alloy at the back while a 2.5D curved glass protects the screen.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek MTK8783 1.3GHz octa-core processor coupled with 3 GB RAM along with 32 GB internal storage. The phone, however, supports memory extension up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

Phab 2 Plus is a dual sim device that comes with 4050 mAh battery runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s Vibe UI skin on top. It supports 4G VoLTE and also comes with a fingerprint sensor located on the back.

The highlight of the device is its camera; it has two 13 megapixel cameras located on the rear which enables Augmented Reality mode in the camera app. An 8-megapixel camera is located on the front. The rear cameras come with f2.0 aperture, Laser focus, and PDAF Light Supplement and have manual camera mode too, while the front camera f2.2 aperture.

The phone comes with a G-sensor, a proximity sensor, an L-Sensor, an E-compass and a Gyroscope Hall sensor. These sensors help a software based Augmented Reality mode in the camera which superimposes objects in the real-world videos and images. Although the AR capabilities of Phab 2 Plus is not like the Project Tango-enabled Phab 2 Pro.
