Huawei is finally rolling out Android Nougat 7.0 update for its Honor 6X smartphone. Today, the company has confirmed that update has begun rolling out to the Honor 6X (Review). The update is being rolled out in batches and some users would be able to get it by mid or end of May.

The update was earlier available only for the Beta testers, however, if you own an Honor 6X you can go to Settings and then tap on update, right at the bottom of the page. If you’re lucky your phone will show the available firmware update alert else your device will get an alert in coming weeks.

Although the device we have did not get an update message, do check on yours and make sure that you have a Wi-Fi connection available as the update would be a large one.

Along with the Nougat update for Honor 6x, Huawei is also offering EMUI 5.0 update for the phone which brings a host of new features like a revamped interface with optional app drawer and a revamped task manager.

A twip app feature will also be present with the latest update. This app will allow users to use two user accounts within an application.

The users who can not wait till the OTA update of Honor 6X is available in a gradual rollout may still have to wait to download the update file to flash via a microSD card.
