Honor 8 Smart Launched in India: Price, Specifications, and More

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched Honor 8 Smart along with the launch of it’s flagship Honor 8 and a budget smartphone Honor Holly 3 in an event in Delhi, yesterday. It is basically a  stripped down version of Honor 8 and yes without dual camera lens.

Honor 8 Smart Specifications

Honor 8 Smart comes in aluminium-magnesium alloy frame smartphone and features a 5.2-inch full-HD In-Cell Touch display with a pixel density of 424ppi and a 76.4% screen-to-body ratio. It sports a metal design unlike the all-glass design of Honor 8.

Honor 8 Smart is powered by Huawei’s in-house a 64-bit octa-core Kirin 650 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz along with 2GB RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further extended up to 28GB with microSD.

The overall design and feature are very different to Honor 8 and this smartphone comes with 13-megapixel rear camera Sony IMX214 sensor, and the front camera is an 8-megapixel shooter with a f/2.0 aperture.

It comes with a fingerprint sensor located on the back and packs a 3000mAh battery that promises 1.3 days of battery life even with heavy use, as per the company.

The Honor 8 Smart supports single-SIM (Nano-SIM) slot and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Honor’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top. Other connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and an infrared scanner. FM Radio is missing from the device

Honor 8 Smart Availability and Pricing

The new smartphone will be available in 3 colour variants Black, White, and Gold. Although the phone looks almost identical to the Honor 5C (Review) and also has similar specs it is still priced way higher than Honor 5C (Review) which came at Rs. 10,999.

Priced at Rs. 19,999,  Honor 8 Smart will be available on Amazon India, Flipkart and Honor Stores online, and major retail stores across the country.
