Here’s the New iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

Finally, after almost tons of leaks and rumors, Apple has announced its next generation of iPhones, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in a global launch event held in San Francisco. New iPhones will be available in the Unites States this Friday.  The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be sold in silver, gold, rose gold and a new black finish in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB variants.

iPhone 7 Specifications

The phones look strikingly similar to the previous generations, this year, however, we get to see a new Glossy, mirrored finish. Apple introduced a new variant called jet black. The home button on the new device have been redesigned and it is now force sensitive like the Force Touch trackpads used in recent MacBook laptops.

The processor on iPhone 7 has also been improved and comes with the A10 64-bit quad-core processor. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus comes with 2GB of RAM, whereas the 7 Plus offers 3GB.

The camera on iPhone has always been a highlight. Apple says that the camera on iPhone 7 comes with optical image stabilization and a brighter f/1.8 lens which allows  50 percent more light compared to the previous generation iPhone 6S that came with f/2.2 lens.

However, it’s the iPhone 7 Plus that has the better camera setup.  It comes with dual camera sensors where one is a wide-angle lens, while the other is a telephoto lens. This setup can create a better depth of field and bokeh in images. The Telephoto lens allows 2X optical Xoom and 10X Digital Zoom

Both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are (finally!) water- and dust-resistant (IP67). iPhone 7 comes with a 4.7-inch display and 7Plus comes with a 5.5-inch screen. The iPhone 7 Plus comes with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, while the 7 comes with 1,334 x 750 pixels.

As rumors had stated correctly, iPhone 7 comes without the analog 3.5mm audio jack instead, EarPods connect over lightning port now to provide lossless audio quality. In case you were worrying about the existing

headphone or earphones that connect over the 3.5mm audio jack, Apple is providing the 3.5mm-to-Lightning adapter for free with every iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Apple also introduced AirPods, its own version of wireless version of EarPods. The AirPods come with tap-to-wake Siri controls and can provide up to five hours of battery life and will cost $160 extra. Apple has also put stereo speakers on the front of its iPhone 7.

iPhone 7 Pricing and Availability

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are up for pre-order on September 9 and will be will officially be available on September 16. Apple will also roll out iOS 10 on 13th September.

The iPhone 7 starts at $649 and will not have a 16GB version anymore. Other storage options available are 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB. The new jet black color will only come with 128GB and 256GB internal storage options. Pricing of iPhone 7 Plus starts at $769 and also comes with same storage options.
