Asus has unveiled ZenFone 3 Zoom, a successor to the ZenFone Zoom that came with an optical zoom along with Zenfone AR. It is a highly refined product in terms of design, battery and most importantly the cameras. Asus has successfully squeezed a mammoth 5,000 mAh battery which comes as a boon as the initial Zenfone Zoom has a very poor battery life.
We’ve seen that Asus has reworked the design of it’s phones with the Zenfone 3 series and we can see the improved design here on Zenfone 3 Zoom as well. We have seen the new design during our review of Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Max.
Zenfone 3 Zoom Specifications
Zenfone 3 Zoom comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, a 5.5-inch 1080p display. The pricing and configurations like RAM and internal storage specs were not announced and will be shared “at a later date,” says Asus. The phone will be available to buy in February this year.
Zenfone 3 Zoom’s highlight is its camera. It comes with 2 12-MP cameras, one is a f/1.7-aperture, 25mm wide-angle lens, while the other is a 59mm version offering a 2.3x optical zoom, which is slightly toned down from its predecessor that had 3X optical zoom. As per Asus, the pair of lenses can work together to provide depth-of-field bokeh effect that blurs the background and keeps the subject of your photos in focus.
