The budget android smartphone market in India, at this point, is quite competitive. Buyers, in some cases, are spoilt for choice. Hey, that in a way is good but then it has some disadvantages as well. It is because of such an intense competition, it is difficult to find one single device that scores at all levels. When you’ve to decide on an android phone around Rs. 5,000, the decision is a bit easy. You know that you’ll have to pick a device that can just complete a specific task that you’re looking for.

Even a picking an Android smartphone around Rs. 10,000 is not a difficult task but beyond that you’re looking for a device that should offer decent performance, have a decent camera or offer a good battery life. You start looking for a value for money device.

It ‘s hard to come across a smartphone that packages all these features and more in one sleek unit. This is where ASUS’ latest addition to the hugely successful Zenfone 3 family, Zenfone 3 Max comes into the picture. It comes in 2 variants based on screen size and processor used in them. 1st is the Mediatek powered, 5.2-inch Zenfone 3 Max that retails around Rs. 12,999 and the other Zenfone 3 Max comes with a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor that comes with 5.5″ display and is priced at Rs. 17,999. We recently reviewed the same too.

Let us give you 5 reasons that show why you should buy Zenfone 3 Max:

Zenfone 3 Max Build And Design

We’ve mentioned this time and again. The best thing with the Zenfone 3 series of Asus is its design. The phone’s look premium, practical and are sleek. No exception with Zenfone 3 Zoom as well.

It comes with finely sandblasted full-metal, aluminum alloy body and rounded corners making it a delight to hold on to. Its chamfered edges and the 2.5D curved screen are nicely placed and hence giving the phone a sleek and elegant look. The design of Zenfone 3 Max easily makes it stand out from the competition.

Zenfone 3 Max Battery

The strongest reason to buy Zenfone 3 Max is its battery. These days people use smartphones for accessing e-mails, social media accounts, playing games, watching videos and movies and listening to songs, not just for making calls. With the ability to multitask on the go, mobile phones are no longer a liability. Hence you need enough juice on your phone to be able to support your requirements without making you look for an alternate source of power to charge the phones.

Zenfone 3 Max comes with a 4100 mAh lithium-polymer battery, which lasted easily for a day and a half, without me looking to charge the phone. I gave the device a heavy spin during the test and was impressed with the battery backup. The star of this show is the energy efficient 14 nm processor and the Intelligent Power Modes the phone comes pre-equipped with. There are five selectable power modes that enable users to regulate their usage according to their needs – Performance mode, Normal mode, Power saving mode, Super Saving mode and Customized mode.

Zenfone 3 Max Camera

A good camera is one of the most basic requirements from a smartphone. Being companion devices, they help the users capture their special moments. Hence, it is important for the smartphone to be able to click flawless pictures that can help the users treasure and cherish these memories forever.

The Zenfone 3 Max comes with laser assist that helped to focus on the object perfectly every time. The two versions of Zenfone 3 Max (5.5 inch & 5.2 inch) feature 16 MP and 13 MP rear cameras respectively. The smartphones also sport 8 MP (5.5 inch) and 5 MP (5.2 inch) front cameras for selfies.

There are tons of features and modes present in the camera app that comes pre-installed, including a full blown manual setting mode too. In case you are a pro, this really would help you clicking amazing pictures. For capturing videos with the 5.5-inch variant, an electronic image stabilization (EIS) system counteracts hand movements to ensure the resulting videos are stable and shake-free.

Zenfone 3 Max Display

Smartphones have become the primary device for media consumption. Be it watching videos online or offline, smartphones alway come handy. You also do not get much time these days to transfer data to a dedicated device and then watch them at a later stage. That is where the 5.5-inch FullHD display comes handy. Not only it has an amazing display on both the variants but also has a blue light filter that helps in reducing the strain on the eyes.

Zenfone 3 Max Performance

Equipped with a powerful processor, Zenfone 3 Max delivers outstanding performance. Together with a 3GB RAM, the smartphone provides a greater responsiveness and ability to run graphically demanding games.I would not call it a powerhouse but it is one reliable device that will complete all the tasks thrown at it

While the internal memory of both variants is 32 GB, the 5.5 inch is further expandable to 128GB and the 5.2 inch to 32GB, allowing more than sufficient storage for your images, videos, games, etc.

Summing Up

Both the variants of Zenfone 3 Max offer great value for money and are worth the price. If you’re happy with a smaller display than go for the 5.2 -inch device and if you’re happy with a large device, then the 5.5-inch variant is the device for you.
